Strengthening CloudNine’s climate capability

Carbon literacy is rapidly becoming a core capability for organisations responding to climate targets, ESG requirements and growing stakeholder expectations. It builds understanding, confidence and accountability, helping people recognise how everyday decisions and organisational choices translate into carbon impact.

For CloudNine, carbon literacy isn’t an add on, its foundational to how we work. It strengthens our ability to design practical social value and sustainability solutions in tenders, supports credible client commitments and translates policy into real world delivery. It also builds confidence and capability across our teams to have informed, constructive conversations about climate action.

As we step into 2026, seven members of the CloudNine team have now achieved Carbon Literacy certification, completing accredited training and developing their own evidence-based, individual commitments for climate action.

Why carbon literacy matters

Carbon literacy enables organisations to:

  • Build a shared understanding of climate impact across teams
  • Move from ambition to practical, evidence-based action
  • Strengthen procurement, tender and ESG responses with credible informed commitments
  • Embed sustainability into decision making rather than treating it as a standalone workstream.

This matters more than ever as expectations move beyond target setting and into demonstrable delivery.
