Project overview:
Design and construction of new passenger tunnels at Elephant & Castle Underground Station. The project involved linking a newly built station box, housing a future Northern Line entrance and ticket hall, with the existing platforms and overbridge.
What we did:
To align with Transport for London’s (TfL) strategic priorities, we developed an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Plan that met tender requirements and embedded best practice and innovation.
Key EDI Plan elements and TfL alignment:
- Inclusive design: improved accessibility and safety for equitable customer experience
- Diverse workforce: developed programmes supporting inclusive hiring, meeting TfL’s goals
- Community: co-designed engagement models reflecting diverse community needs
- Economic inclusion: supplier diversity strategies engaging SMEs and VCSEs for tangible local benefit
What we delivered:
The EDI Plan strengthened our client’s successful tender submission and laid the foundation for inclusive infrastructure development.
